People sometimes ask me what exactly it is I do. Sometimes it is not so easy to understand unless you are involved. Every so often, as a psychotherapist, I get reminded of what I do. This happy couple A & J (who have given permission for their their photograph to be published) today reminded me. I still cannot quite put it into words but, as the saying goes, a picture says a thousand, thousand words.

This couple were a same-sex couple who came to me for therapy. One of them had come out recently as gender-diverse. At the end of our time together, I made an assessment and recommended that hormone therapy be begun.

Most importantly, the happy couple are still in love and they are still smiling. Here is what my gender-diverse client had to say….”

I’m proud of my progress physically but even more so mentally/emotionally. I am so thankful that I chose to call on you for help. You were and are the perfect support and guidance!
